Effective September 15, 2022, Indiana Code 16-34-2-1, will ban abortion in Indiana, except during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy to prevent “any serious health risk to the pregnant woman or save the pregnant woman’s life” or if “the fetus is diagnosed with a lethal fetal anomaly.” Also, a woman who got pregnant as a result of rape or incest may have an abortion during first 10 weeks of the pregnancy. Additionally, Indiana’s new abortion law limits the use of the abortion inducing drug, Mifepristone, to the first 8 weeks of the pregnancy. Some have described Indiana’s abortion law as the most restrictive abortion law in the country and the first since the Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe vs. Wade.

Putting a baby up for adoption, or more appropriately making an adoption plan, gives a woman facing an untimely pregnancy, unplanned pregnancy, or unwanted pregnancy an alternative to parenting the child.

POSITIVE ADOPTION LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER:  Please understand that these blog posts are written in a way to use language that people use when searching for help with their adoption plans.  Unfortunately, while all of us understand what positive adoption language means, most expectant moms that come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the Internet for expectant moms is “how do I give up my baby for adoption”.  If we do not include those words in our blog posts, and instead put “how do I create an adoption plan for my baby” then our website will not show up in most expectant mom’s search results in Google.

Whether you live in Indiana or outside of Indiana, if you work with us, at Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”), in all likelihood, we would file the adoption in Indiana. Indiana Adoption Laws make adoption court records STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. Additionally, Indiana Adoption Laws do not require you to involve anyone in the adoption whom you do not want to involve. That includes the unwed father of the child. If you are married, you may still not have to involve your husband, if he is not the biological father of the child.

We, at Kirsh & Kirsh, as adoption professionals in Indiana for more than 35 years and having assisted with numerous successful newborn adoptions, respect the sacrificial love of birth mothers who put aside their own needs to take care of the needs of their children. We know that whether a birth parent goes to a baby adoption agency or adoption law firm like Kirsh & Kirsh, a birth parent, who places a child for adoption, makes an “adoption plan” for their child.

We write these blog posts as we do to use language that people use when searching for help with their adoption plans.  While we, at Kirsh & Kirsh, understand what positive adoption language means, most expectant moms that come to us, at first, do not. Because Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”) have the largest adoption program in Indiana and one of the largest adoption programs in the Midwest, and possibly the United States, we can offer birth parents and expectant mothers a choice of many independently investigated, carefully screened, prospective adoptive parents who cannot wait to welcome a baby into their hearts and home. We, at Kirsh & Kirsh, have helped approximately 4000 birth mothers find happy, loving, secure homes for the precious newborns. We have more than 35 years of experience handling adoptions in Indiana – NOT 35 years of “combined” experience as some groups advertise, when they add together the years individual members of the staff have assisted in adoptions. Additionally, unlike a national adoption agency, Kirsh & Kirsh is based in Indiana, but have prospective adoptive parents from all around the country.

As a birth mother or birth parent considering giving your child up for adoption, or more correctly, making an adoption plan for your baby, you risk nothing by contacting us. We will treat you with kindness and respect, never pressure you, but will explain our adoption program and provide information about hopeful adoptive parents, without cost or obligation on your part. We give expectant mothers and birth mothers as much or as little involvement in the family selection process as they would like.

If you are asking yourself this question, you should investigate giving up your baby for adoption, or more correctly, making an adoption plan for your child. Parenting is a huge, lifelong responsibility – it takes time, commitment, resources (not just money), skill, knowledge, and support. Parents who are prepared for that responsibility do NOT ask themselves if they should consider adoption. They just don’t. It is not on their radar. If it is on yours, keep reading.

If you question your ability to provide your child the life, future, opportunities children deserve, contact an experienced adoption attorney or reputable adoption agency to check into adoption. Do not deceive yourself into thinking that you are ready to parent because you (or with the assistance of others) have a place to live and can buy formula and diapers. Parenting involves much more than feeding, clothing, and sheltering your child. Don’t confuse parenting with baby-sitting.

Think about the life you had as a child. Is that what you want for your child? Are you equipped to provide that life for your child? Do you want more for your child? Do you want to rely on friends and family to provide for your child? Is it their responsibility? Have they reliably helped you in the past?

If you are not 100% certain you are ready to parent, you owe it to yourself, and most importantly, to your child to explore adoption.

In Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Indiana, you have one of the leading adoption professionals in the country in Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”). We, at Kirsh & Kirsh, understand that you face the most difficult decision a mother could face. We will NOT tell you what to do. We will NEVER pressure you. We WILL treat you with kindness and respect, answer your questions, help you with Medicaid (or the equivalent in your state), find an adoption-friendly doctor and hospital, and arrange for you to speak with a counselor and your own attorney, if you wish, all at NO COST to you.

If YOU DECIDE adoption is the best plan for your child, we will help you find the perfect adoptive family for your baby. The prospective adoptive parents whom we will introduce to you have been carefully screened and investigated. NONE of them question if they are ready to be parents. With all of their hearts and souls, they cannot wait to be welcome a baby into their lives.

You may contact us at Kirsh & Kirsh without it costing you anything. Birth mothers NEVER pay a fee to us. See what we have to offer before making the most important decision of your life.
