Unexpectedly pregnant when it wasn’t part of your plan? You might be overwhelmed. Take a deep breath. Unplanned pregnancy help is available. You are not alone in this moment and don’t have to figure it out yourself. Loving Adoptions by Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”—often misspelled as “Kirsch & Kirsch”), is here to help you.
Know your Options
As a birthmother dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, you have options. You have the right to make your own decision.
- Parenting
- Adoption
- Abortion
Adoption Plan
If you decide adoption feels right, the next step is creating an adoption plan. An adoption plan allows you to choose:
Type of Adoption
What do you prefer:
- An Open adoption (ongoing contact),
- A semi-open adoption (letters, photos, or updates),
- A closed adoption (no contact)?
The Adoptive Family
You’ll often have the opportunity to review profiles of waiting families, learn about their values, lifestyles, and hopes for the future, and select who you feel most comfortable with. If you wish, you can meet the family in person or via Zoom, without any obligation to proceed with an adoption or stick with that family.

POSITIVE ADOPTION LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER:
Please understand that these blogs are written in a way to use language that people use when searching for help with their adoption plans. Unfortunately, while all of us understand what positive adoption language means, most expectant moms who come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the Internet for pregnant moms is “How do I give up my baby for adoption.” If we do not include those words in our blog posts and instead put “How do I create an adoption plan for my baby,” then our website will not show up in most expectant moms’ search results in Google.
