Before directly answering that question, we at Kirsh & Kirsh do not believe that women “give up babies” for adoption. The thoughtful, loving, courageous, and loving expectant mothers and birth mothers, with unplanned or untimely pregnancies, who work with us and are not ready for a child or another child, make adoption plans to provide their precious unborn babies or recently born babies the lives, futures, and opportunities they desperately want for their children. A birth mother who places her baby for adoption gives the adoptive parents the gift of a child and her child the gift of a bright future – incredible gifts!

Because Kirsh & Kirsh is an adoption law firm, rather than an adoption agency, we do not take directives from a Board of Directors. We have one or more attorneys licensed to practice law in Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky. We tailor each adoption we facilitate in a way that works for both the adoptive parents and birth mothers. Furthermore, Kirsh & Kirsh can react and adjust quickly without waiting for Board of Directors to meet, debate, and formulate a new policy which the director, assistant director, and case workers at the agency must rigidly follow.

For the pregnant women considering adoption, Kirsh & Kirsh historically liked to meet those women in person. In fact, 3 of our 4 lawyers are pilots, making in person meetings relatively easy. But, because of the stay-at-home orders, we have found that “meeting” an expectant mother via text, phone, FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom works well. In fact, we have found many women prefer to “meet” that way. We always want to do want makes the expectant or birth mother feel comfortable.

If you are pregnant and thinking about adoption in Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, or Kentucky, please contact us at the Adoption Law Firm of Kirsh & Kirsh. We have helped numerous women find loving, secure, happy homes for their precious newborns. We can help you, too.

Yes! In that the Adoption law firm of Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (Kirsh & Kirsh) only handles adoptions, we have lots of prospective adoptive parents who have asked us to help them find a baby to adopt.

Since we are based in Indiana and have waiting families who would adopt in Indiana a baby born in other states such as Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky, Indiana law allows us to provide adoption services to expectant mothers and those who have already given birth in states outside of Indiana. Adoption services include matching birth mothers with prospective adoptive parents. Given that Kirsh & Kirsh is the largest adoption program in Indiana and, perhaps, the Midwest, we have the greatest variety of really wonderful, carefully screened, prospective adoptive parents from which a woman thinking about giving up her baby for adoption, or more correctly, making an adoption plan, can choose. We know that birth parents must Love, or at the very least, be comfortable with, the adoptive family in order to make an adoptive placement.

Some birth parents want a lot of involvement in the selection of families and others want to leave the decision to us. We will arrange an adoption in whatever way gives the birth mother the greatest peace of mind. Many of our expectant moms and birth mothers want to look at profiles of the families which include lots of photos. A lot want to speak with the prospective adoptive parents by telephone, and some want to meet them in person. How ever a mom selects the prospective adoptive parents, if she chooses one of the Kirsh & Kirsh families, she will not make a mistake. All the prospective adoptive parents, whom we represent, will provide a wonderful, happy home and a lifetime of opportunities for a baby.

For information about our waiting families, please contact us at Kirsh & Kirsh. We will always treat you will kindness and respect. Of the many expectant mothers with whom we have worked over years, many, if not most, have needed help paying their living expenses while they were pregnant and during their postpartum recovery.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven . . . .”

For years at Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”), we have told our prospective adoptive parent clients to have faith that when “their” baby comes along, the baby will find his or her way into their hearts and homes. Likewise, we have assured birth mothers that when the “right” family comes along, the birth mother will just know.

Recently, at Kirsh & Kirsh, an adoptive mom came to visit with her beautiful and joyful 3-year-old daughter, who found her way into their family’s hearts and homes by what can only be described as divine intervention. About 3 years ago, a hospital social worker contacted us (we love hospital social workers!) and asked if we could find a family for a newborn, Chinese girl, with Down Syndrome and other medical complications.

Through our national networking efforts, we found the perfect family for our baby – wonderful family who had had previously adopted a Chinese, baby girl with Down Syndrome and other medical complications. Their previously adopted daughter thrived with the love and attention of the adoptive family. Furthermore, the prospective adoptive parents embraced the then current birth mother’s desire for openness in the adoption. After reading the family’s profile, the birth parents talked with the prospective adoptive parents by telephone and then met them in person.

As difficult as the decision was for them, the birth parents LOVED the adoptive parents and knew that the adoptive parents could provide the life, future, and opportunities they desperately want for their daughter. The birth mother and father both had full time jobs, and the birth mother also attended college full time. They loved their newly born daughter dearly, and as much as their hearts were telling them otherwise, they knew that they simply did not have the resources to provide for her in the way she would need. They wanted more for her than they could give, and in the most selfless act of love, put her needs before their own. The adoptive mom, her husband, and other children adore the newest edition to their family and could not appreciate more the loving sacrifice the birth mother and father made for their daughter and them.
