Give the baby up for adoption at hospital;

CAN I SPEND TIME WITH THE BABY IN THE HOSPITAL/DO I HAVE TO SEE THE BABY AT THE HOSPITAL IF I GIVE THE BABY UP FOR ADOPTION?

A birth mother has the sole right to decide how much, if any, time she spends with her baby in the hospital if she gives the baby up for adoption or, more correctly, makes an adoption plan for the baby. Neither under Indiana law nor the law of any other state can a woman sign a binding consent to adoption BEFORE she gives birth. Before signing a consent to adoption, the birth mother has total CONTROL, in the hospital, over how much time, if any, she chooses to spend with her baby. If an adoption agency or adoption attorney tells her otherwise, she needs to look for another adoption attorney or adoption agency to help her facilitate her adoption plan. Completing a background form serves three purposes. THE BABY DADDY BLOCKED ME. CAN I GIVE MY BABY UP FOR ADOPTION?

If you contact Indiana-based Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. However, if she identifies the baby daddy and provides an address at which he can be found, we can notify him of the adoption and potentially stop his challenge of the adoption before she gives birth. If the birth mother got pregnant in a state with a putative father registry, we at Kirsh & Kirsh can rely on that state’s putative father registry in an Indiana adoption proceeding.
